this year to single play format: mano a mano! Four flights, determined by
handicap.
ENTRY FEE:
$15 entry
fee should be submitted to Arthur McMaster, or to Mike Toskey, either in person
or by mail, to: A. McMaster, 114 Moorcroft Way, Greer, SC 29650. Make checks
payable to the Golden Boys, memo note: GB Match Play.
DEADLINE
for ENTRY FEES IS Wed, August 17 – Please be Prompt. We expect to build four flights of
eight contestants each. Once we get 32 players we will close enrollment and
accept alternates, as flights and schedules permit.
FIRST
ROUND:
First
round opponents will be posted on the bulletin board on Friday, Aug 19 with play
beginning on Wed, August 24. All first round matches shall
be played on Aug 24 or 26. All subsequent matches MUST be
completed within 10 days of prior match. This has been a BIG problem in recent
years. As players advance, try to play successive matches within one week
after a win.
RULES:
●
Standard Golden Boys rules apply, except for putts which should be played out
unless conceded.
●
Each player will compete using 90% of his handicap of August 1, This number
will be used throughout tournament.
●
Handicap difference determines how many strokes the higher handicap player
receives.
●
For each hole, the better net score wins.
●
If the match is tied after 18 holes, play continues to Hole #1 and each hole
thereafter until there is a winner.
HANDICAPS
AND
TEES:
● As
stated: Handicaps as of August 1st will be used for the entire
tournament.
● All play is from the black tees.
SCHEDULING:
Participants will schedule their own matches with each match being completed
within 10 days. If a player is having a problem setting up a match with his
opponent, please contact Art McMaster to resolve conflicts. Forfeits can be and
historically are handled directly between the scheduled, competing players.
