Rules Governing Interclub Selection Procedures

1.   Pebble Creek GC is allocated 18 player slots for the Carolina Interclub tournaments and 20 player slots for the Mountain Interclub tournaments.  A selection sheet that includes all tournaments from both interclub organizations will be distributed to Golden Boy golf members in January of each year.  Interested members must select a maximum of six (6) tournaments from those listed indicating their preference by numbering them 1 – 6.  Members must return their selections to the Golf Chairman by the 16^th of February in order to be included in the selection process for that year.
2.   If more than 18 Golden Boys select any Carolina course as their first choice, first priority will be given to those Golden Boys who played in at least one home interclub tournament in the preceding year.  Second priority will be based upon cumulative annual golf attendance on Wednesdays in the preceding year.
3.   If more than 20 Golden Boys select any Mountain course as their first choice, first priority will be given to those Golden Boys who played in at least one home interclub tournament in the preceding year.  Second priority will be based upon cumulative annual golf attendance on Wednesdays in the preceding year.  Third priority will be given to those who were not selected to play that mountain course in the preceding year.

4.   Selections shall be distributed to those in attendance at the annual Golden Boys meeting held in March and thereafter to those Golden Boys not in attendance at the annual meeting.

5.   For Golden Boys wanting to sign up as alternates or to fill open slots for the interclub tournaments, sign up sheets will be posted on the Golden Boys Bulletin Board and e-mail notices will be sent out 30 days prior to each event.  When signing up you must include the date and time that you are signing up in order to be eligible.

6.   The Golf Chairman shall notify the players scheduled to participate in an interclub tournament of the date by which their entry fee must be paid.  Entry fees received after the cut-off date will only be accepted if the field is not filled. 

2012 Golden Boys Interclub Selection Procedure

Please adhere to the following procedures when applying for participation in the interclub events for 2012.

·Select your top six (6) preferences from the “Selection Sheet” provided by numbering them 1 – 6.

·Make sure to include your name on your “Selection Sheet”.

·Submit your completed “Selection Sheet” to Wendell Alderman via e-mail, snail mail, or in person no later than Wednesday, February 15, 2012.  Selections may also be given in person to Jay Gaskin.

Following the February 15^th deadline, Wendell and Jay will review your choices and provide you the results at the Golden Boys Annual Meeting scheduled for Wednesday, March 7th.  For those who are interested we have included a copy of the  2012 revised rules governing the selection process for your reading pleasure.

It is our goal that everyone receive either their first or second choice.

On the “Selection Sheet” the interclubs are separated into the Carolina Interclub events and the Mountain Interclub events for edification purposes only.  Please choose your six selections from the entire list of events.

For new members of the Golden Boys all of the tournament costs (home or away) break down the same: cart fee, prize fee, food & beverage.  The cost per person for the Carolina Interclub events is $40 and the Mountain Interclubs is $40 - $45.  Any difference in total entry fee is the result of differences in the food & beverage provided.  Please note there are no green fees.

There is a big sign on the right side of the road advertising Cummings Cove.  Stay on Cummings Rd. for approximately 2 miles.  The Country Club is on the left.

Branch Right at the next intersection (Edwards Mill Road) and continue Across Wade Hampton Blvd. to the first traffic light (Brushy Creek Road).
Left on Brushy Creek Road to the first traffic light. (Old Spartanburg Road).
Continue straight on Old Spartanburg Road thru the next intersection (Hudson Road).
The next street on the right is Boiling Springs Road.
Take Boiling Springs Road to the next traffic light.
After the traffic light, branch left on Old Boiling Springs Road (the first street on the left).
